People Pay Tribute To The ‘Missile Man Of India’ On His Birth Anniversary By Planting Trees

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam has given the nation numerous reasons to be proud of him. The aerospace scientist served as the 11th President of India. Born in Rameswaram, he also spent a major part of his life as a scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Fondly known as the ‘Missile man of India’, he always believed in learning and sharing knowledge. A great teacher and visionary, he was a ‘People’s President’ and cherished leader.

The United Nations had also declared October 15 to be celebrated as ‘World Student’s Day’ to pay respect to Abdul Kalam’s unparalleled legacy. He was loved by one and all. Dr. Abdul Kalam was also chosen as the ‘Paryavaran Ambassador of India’ by the students through a campaign conducted across 200,000 schools in India. Today, on his 88th Birth Anniversary, people paid tribute to the great scientist in their own unique way. Amidst all the celebrations, #PlantForKalam is trending on twitter. Tamilian actor, Vivekh initiated the move and inspired people to go green.

People are sharing images of themselves planting trees as a tribute to the former president.

Many also shared pictures of the ‘Missle Man’ conducting plantation drives and protecting the environment.
