Here we are, cooped up at home again, thinking what to order in and which series to binge-watch, all thanks to the rising cases of the new coronavirus variant Omicron. According to a report by Republic TV, India has reported 16,764 new COVID-19 cases and 309 Omicron cases in the last 24 hours. The number of Omicron cases is up to 1,270.
Taking into cognizance this grim situation, several states have reportedly imposed travel restrictions. Some have also come up with new guidelines for New Year’s Eve in order to control Omicron spread. A night curfew has been imposed in Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala. Several states have also instructed restaurants, pubs, and clubs to operate with 50% capacity, read a report by Outlook.
