This Guy Withdrew A New ₹2000 Note From The Bank And It Just Crumbled To Pieces!

Ever since the new ₹2000 note came into circulation, there have been some weird rumours floating around about its attributes. Some said it had a GPS tracking chip, some even claimed it could double as a USB drive! People have even shot videos while conducting gruesome experiments on the pink paper in order to test out its sturdiness.

While some of these have clearly been hoaxes, this news from Taliparamba, Kerela has the durability of the new note into serious question.

P.C. Shareefa withdrew five ₹2000 notes from Federal Bank in Taliparamba, Kerela and found that the notes started to crumble.

One of these notes crumbled to a point where it was simply rendered unusable.

When Shareefa’s son P.C. Shemeel brought this to the bank’s attention, the officials refused to accept that these notes were given out by the branch.

“I found the note crumbling while handing it.”

Shemeel further added that he still managed to use four notes but one of them seemed to be damaged beyond recognition.

So where do you think the problem lies? Could we call it a manufacturing defect? Or perhaps some crudely made forgeries have made way into our cash system once again?
