Mumbai RPF Jawan Saves Woman From Being Crushed After Her Saree Gets Stuck In The Train

Our society loves fixed routines and living according to a script. We create rigid rules for eating, sleeping or traveling and we try very hard to stick to it. And the simple reason for that is because it makes us feel safe and happy. However, life doesn’t care about our rules and will throw a curve ball when we least expect it. Such was the case for a Mumbai woman who was deboarding a train.

In a video recorded by a CCTV camera, a woman can be seen getting off a Mumbai local train. However, unluckily her saree gets stuck, causing her to be dragged along with the speeding train.

The harrowing incident occurred at Mumbai’s Kanjurmarg railway station. The first mistake that the woman committed was getting off of a moving train. It’s a practice that’s always discouraged but nobody really listens to it. And it goes downhill from there as she’s sucked into the gap between the train and the platform.

Thankfully, a RPF Jawan had boarded the bogey just behind her. And as soon as he noticed that this woman’s life was in danger, he ran alongside the train and pulled her away. As the train had already gained momentum, he was unable to hold on to her for too long. However, his efforts detached the saree from the train, thereby saving her life.

The RPF Jawan’s heroism was not only lauded by people on the internet, but also by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal himself.

While the RPF Jawan did a significant job, the people at the station should be lauded as well for pulling her away from the train. Although the woman suffered some grievous injuries, she at least managed to live another day thanks to this RPF Jawan.

Almost a week ago, a similar incident had happened at Mumbai’s Panvel station where a RPF personnel saved a man’s life. And going by the frequency of these accidents, Mumbaikars really need to be careful while traveling. Because if it isn’t for these brave Jawans, many of them would’ve lost their lives while commuting.
