They say that nature is a great leveller. Whatever you give it, it will give you back – both the good and the bad. If you plant a seed, take care of it until it grows into a tree, it will give you shade from the scorching heat. But if you pollute nature and dump your waste on it, it will find a way of handing it back to you.
Many people were reminded of this after waves of thrash were washed up at Mumbai beaches following Cyclone Tauktae. According to Financial Express, huge tidal waves of the Arabian Sea threw heaps of garbage at the Gateway of India monument, Marine Drive, and other places. The BMC 4 trucks of garbage from the area.
TOI posted pictures on Twitter showing garbage lying at the Love Grove pumping station.

What you give to nature comes back to you exactly the way it was given. Kindly ensure no waste finds its way into rivers or seas that is adversely affecting marine ecosystem. #CycloneTauktae pic.twitter.com/pJs2oErgdA

These visuals made many people reconsider how they are treating the environment. Some said that if we fail to do anything about it now, future generations will curse us.
As cities still grapple to recover from the devastating effects of the cyclone, let us vow to recycle and focus on sustainable waste disposal.
