Robbery on the streets of Rio De Janeiro is no news for the world. But a recent case of a robber who targeted a woman waiting for her Uber ride in the city is making news for all the right reasons, thanks to its action-packed climax!
So here goes the entire episode:
A UFC fighter woman, Polyana Viana was waiting outside her apartment for her Uber when a suspicious man came and sat next to her. The man asked her the time but looked chary and as soon as the woman tried to keep her phone aside, the man attacked her asking to surrender her phone at the gun-point. The woman, however, caught his soft and fake cardboard gun and gave it back to him like a fighter that she was!
Polyana, who is a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter, popularly called as ‘The Iron Lady’ narrated the entire incident to the website MMA Junkie.
She said, “He was really close to me. So I thought ‘if it’s a gun, he won’t have time to draw it.’ So I stood up. I threw two punches and a kick. He fell, then I caught him in a rear-naked choke.”
She kept the man pinned until the police arrived. Now, that’s we call girl-power! Netizens have lauded Polyana for her badass punches and chokes.
UFC president Dana White also applauded Viana, tweeting an image of the fighter alongside the mugger.
