Monkey Spotted Walking On Top Of Shelves Inside Hospital Operation Theater In Port-Of-Spain

Several countries have begun to ease their lockdown measures for the people Certain operations in a few hospitals which were till now suspended due to the coronavirus have now been resumed.

Speaking of which, when medics of Port-of-Spain General Hospital resumed elective surgeries, they found a wild monkey roaming about an operation theatre, reports The Guardian.

Earlier there were rumours of a snake being spotted in the hospital premises around the same. Hospital officials rubbished those rumours and said that it was just a monkey…because apparently while the presence of snakes in the hospital is not okay, monkeys are welcome!

The monkey caused a delay in the elective surgeries as zoological officers had to arrive to capture the animal. The hospital premises has been sanitised.

In a statement, hospital authorities said, “The authority categorically denies that a snake was also found on the hospital’s compound and any information suggesting same is false, misleading and malicious. The incident is currently being reviewed in an effort to implement appropriate measures to prevent a recurrence.”

They claimed that a few posts were circulated on social media with the headlines, “Monkey and a Big Snake was found at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital yesterday.”

After so many weeks of chilling in public spaces without a care in the world, maybe animals haven’t yet realised that the lockdown is easing and someday they might have to go back to the wild!
