Mira Rajput Kapoor has been in the headlines for a lot of reasons. Headlines that ranged from her chat-mangni-pat-biyaah with Shahid Kapoor to her early embrace of motherhood with daughter, Misha. However, she was hugely written off, when she made infamous ‘puppy‘ analogy on the eve of International Women’s Day.
When I say written off, I mean criticism and flak from feminists who found a lot of problems in her idea of feminism and celebrating it.Â
Now, in an interview with TOI, the star wife has opened up about the entire ordeal and her perspective about the same. She explained how her comment was not to belittle working women.Â
She was also asked about her mechanism of coping with criticism, for which she had this to say.Â
“It was tough, but I had Shahid by my side. He said, ‘It’s okay and it happens.’ Also, I prefer looking at the positive side of things.”
On being asked, if she gets wary about Shahid being cornered for her opinion, Mira had a very enlightening answer.Â
“I am not an actor or a public figure, I have the luxury to be politically incorrect.
Also, Shahid is not going to defend something unless he doesn’t believe in it. He will only stand up for what’s right.”
Agree with her or not, she does make a point!
