Married Mumbai Man Wears Same Clothes To His Second Wedding, Gets Caught By Father-In-Law

Clothes are no longer seen just as a necessity in our society, they have reached a point where we rely on them for a plethora of reasons, other than just to cover our body. Clothes can help you make an impression, they also help you differentiate whether one is going to a wedding or a casual event.

And in some cases, they can help you identify if the man marrying your daughter is already married. Yes as unbelievable as that sounds, it actually happened.

The matter was discovered by the father of the bride who was stoked at his daughter’s wedding and was returning home after her bidaai (send-off), scrolling through all the congratulatory messages. He got the shock of his life when he saw his recent son-in-law in the same sherwani standing alongside another bride.

Driven by rage, he reached the groom’s house at around 2 am, to question him about the picture. Turns out, the groom, Sohail Sayyed, 26 had already married his long-term girlfriend 6 months ago but had not disclosed the wedding to his parents because they did not approve of the match.

As reported by Midday, he kept quiet even when his parents arranged his marriage with the second woman who lives in the same locality in Malwani. He wore the same clothes to his second wedding, which he wore on the first.

The bride’s family immediately went to lodge a complaint in the Malwani police station but the cops only filed a non-cognisable (NC) offence and refused to file an FIR. It was only after a family friend and local BJP politician intervened, that the FIR was registered. However, by this time the accused had already fled.

Police investigations later revealed that the photo was sent from Andheri where the first wife of the accused lived. It is being suspected that it could have been sent by her or her relatives. While searching for the accused, the police went to another reception and this time, it was the brother of the accused who was getting married.

According to latest developments, a case under section 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 495 (concealment of former marriage) of the IPC has been registered against the absconding groom.

We can’t even begin to imagine the mortifying ordeal the girl and her family must have gone through after being cheated by a man, she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. We hope the accused is brought to justice.
