Now in a bizarre robbery case, a man robbed a Bank of Scotland branch in Dunfermline, Scotland wearing a pillowcase. Matthew Davies, 47, stormed into the bank armed with a meat cleaver in a pillowcase to carry out the burglary, reports BBC News.

He then pulled out his weapon from the pillowcase and put the bedding over his head to conceal his identity. However, he failed to create eye holes in the case and had to eventually take off his make-shift mask.

During the raid, he asked the cashier for money. When the cashier handed him £300 (Rs.28000 approximately), Mattew demanded more cash and pointed his weapon towards a female customer and was quoted saying by the Independent “I don’t want to f***ing hurt her”. He eventually managed to rob nearly £2,000(Rs.1,87,000 approximately) before leaving the bank.

But a man entering the bank decided to follow the robber as he escaped. Matthew who had no clue that he was being tailed, walked ‘very slowly’ and also stopped to pet a dog. Thanks to the witness, the police were able to find the cash, a pillowcase “consistent with what he put over his head” and a stun gun at the robber’s house.

Matthew is now in custody after pleading guilty to a charge of assault and robbery. We wonder if the thief really thought he could get away with this botched heist. Anyway, we’re glad the police were able to catch the culprit.
