Crimes in the world have been flooding our media for years, however, somehow I feel like they are becoming more and more gruesome by the day. Murders, rapes, gang-rapes and the like have been shaking our world to it’s core. 7-year-old murdered within the four walls of his own school and an 8-year-old child gang raped in a temple, what have we become?
And this incident is no better.
Steven Pladl from Connecticut, USA killed his wife, who was also his daughter along with their 7-month-year-old baby boy. He then took his own life. All this because his daughter-wife broke up with him.
According to Hindustan Times, Steven’s mother had called the police to say that she had had a troubling call from him to ask the officers to check-up on the baby.
The mother told the police that he said that he’s killed the infant in Knightdale and his 20-year-old daughter and her adoptive father in Connecticut. He was upset that she’d broken up with him and hence had taken these drastic measures. The little baby was born out of an incestuous relationship between the father and daughter.
After receiving the call, the police found baby Bennett Pladl dead and alone in the house. Knightdale police Chief Lawrence Capps said,
“We’re trying to make sense of all the factors that led up to this senseless taking of life.”
The authorities have yet not said how the infant was killed.
Katie and her adoptive father, 56-year-old Anthony Fusco had been murdered while running errands in their pick up truck. Their bodies were found with the windows shout out by the police.
Later, the authorities found Steven’s body too with a self-inflicted wound.
The father-daughter duo had been arrested in January on charges of incest. Since their arrest their son had been in the custody of Steven’s mother where he was last seen alive. Steven had taken the baby home after saying that he wished to talk to the mother.
Steven had been previously married to Katie’s mother. Last year he broke the news to her saying that he’s got her daughter pregnant and plans to marry her and hence wants a divorce.
As a child Katie had been adopted by a family but after she turned 18 got in touch with her birth parents and wanted to connect with them over social media.
Steven also had two other children, an 11-year-old and a 6-year-old. At first when Katie moved in she was their sister however, later they were told by their father to refer to her as their step mother.
Due to the case it was said that Steven and Katie were to not be in touch. Katie had moved back to adoptive parents in New York.
It’s seems to be a bad time with sad and gory news pouring in from everywhere. Our condolences are with the family.
