There are way more bizarre jobs in this world than one could count. For example, there are odour-testers (eww) who sniff armpits and bad breath, water-slide testers (best job ever!) who try out new water rides in amusement parks, and aviation photographers who seem to put their lives in line to get the perfect shot!
And here’s another addition to the list – palm tree cutters! According to NDTV, a video of a man cutting a really tall palm tree with a chainsaw while sitting on it has recently gone viral and is giving people from all over the world major goosebumps!
The tree is seen dangerously bending forward as the man’s chainsaw is at work. After the treetop is chopped off, the trunk starts to sway wildly like a pendulum, putting the man’s life in danger. However, the man successfully clings on to the tree throughout.
Have a look:
Ever seen anyone cut a really tall palm tree?

People on the internet have a very valid question – isn’t there a better and safer way to do this?
I'm 100% sure that there is a better way to do this 😐 https://t.co/MlXWKI5CxD

One person suggested that the tree could be cut from a much lesser height to reduce the dangers faced by the cutters.
Uh! I have a suggestion. Why not cut it at the bottom or at least, shorter?

To this, a Twitter user explained how cutting the canopy of leaves from a lower height ends up killing the tree itself. He added how palm trees need such trimming now and then to protect the leaves from parasites.
palm trees only grow leaves at the very top, the lower area of the bark, once the leaves fall off, harden over and can't grow leaves anymore. If you cut the canopy of leaves off too low, you basically kill the tree and it can't grow more leaves.

and, just to note, he's not cutting down the tree. They're trimming it. You have to trim the leaves like that every now and then or else the dead leaves hanging down can pick up parasites and other harmful things. If you want your palmtree to live a long life, you have to trim.
