Malaika Arora Talks About Women Dating Younger Men, How It’s Looked At With ‘Misogyny’

Malaika Arora has in a way redefined the way we look at relationships. After having divorced Arbaaz Khan, she is now dating Arjun Kapoor. Malaika has proven that a woman can fall in love all over again at the age of 40 and can date men who are much younger than them. Just like how men dating much younger women is normal in our society, the other way round should be too.

But Malaika and Arjun Kapoor’s relationship has been a bumpy one. And not because of them, but because of the constant scrutiny and criticism that they are faced with every day. Arjun Kapoor, previously in an interview, spoke about the kind of hate they receive just because they are in love.

And now, Malaika has opened up about how important it is for women to start afresh after a breakup or a divorce. She also highlighted how people are “misogynistic” when it comes to considering the kind of relationship women can be in.

“It’s very important for women to have a life after a breakup or a divorce… There’s a misogynist approach to female relationships. It’s often considered a sacrilege for a woman to date a younger man,” she said.

She also went on to add that she has a lot of strength and grit within herself to tackle such problems, which she has learnt from her mother.

“I’m a reflection of my mother, as I embody her strength and grit, and mirror her life subconsciously. She always told me to live life on my terms and be independent.”

More power to her!
