This Hindu-Muslim Couple Ditched Pheras And Nikaah To Celebrate Love That Is Beyond Religion

To be very honest, the word ‘love’ has been abused over time by us! Its essence exploited, to fit in norms, conditions and whatever society likes to call it. The last time I checked, we were still clinging to regressive and rigid shackles that didn’t recognise love for what it truly is- magical! But there seems to be a  silver lining.

A union that is more than just a marriage between two people. A story that reinstates what my books taught me- loves knows no boundaries!

Meet Junaid Shaikh, a Muslim and Garima Joshi, a Hindu who have gone ahead and proven that love triumphs all. 

 

The duo who dated for a while thought that their last names would bring their relationship to a dreaded end but little did they know, love had something amazing in store for them. In fact, when Junaid learnt that the families have agreed his joys knew no limits.  

While every love story is beautiful in its own way, this one is extra special.

 

Junaid and Garima didn’t go the usual way. No pheras, no nikkah, just a big hearty celebration of two families and two cultures.

“We are just having a celebration, a celebration of 2 cultures and 2 families spending the rest of their lives together.”
