4 Men Allegedly Gang Rape A ‘Bengal Monitor Lizard’ In Maharashtra, Twitter Enraged

We live in a time where rape and sexual abuse are not just limited to women. Be it kids, men, the elderly, or people of the LGBTQ+ community, everyone is subjected to such malaises by people who shouldn’t be given the authority to exist in society.

And today, some humans broke all bounds of disappointment when they allegedly raped a ‘Bengal Monitor Lizard’, a reserved species under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.

This piece of news is bizarre in so many ways and reflects that humans have lost their humanity, their compassion and some have even lost their ability to think right.

The incident happened in the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve near Gothane village in Maharashtra, reported India Today. The incident was confirmed when the officials of the Maharashtra Forest Department checked the mobile phone of the accused and found the recording of the accused allegedly gang-raping the monitor lizard.

The four accused identified as Sandeep Tukram, Pawar Mangesh, Janardhan Kamtekar, and Akshay Sunil are hunters who entered the reserve and committed the crime. They were traced after the authority scrutinized the CCTV footage of the reserve. They allegedly came from Konkan to Kolhapur’s Chandoli village for hunting.

The forest officials have taken matters to the court and are demanding severe actions against the culprits. This abhorrent crime angered people online who questioned the existence of humans on Earth.

I mean, raping an animal by a human and then recording it too? This itself sounds painful. But we have been here, right? Remember how a man raped a pregnant goat earlier?

Calling out those politicians and people in power who once said rapes happen because women wear inappropriate clothes or are out in the wee hours at secluded places. Do you now have anything else to say to defend the rapists here? Probably the lizard was provoking them as ‘men aren’t robots’?
