Even though Bollywood actor Koena Mitra has been MIA these days, one cannot forget her steaming hot performance in the song ‘O Saki Saki’ from the 2004 movie ‘Musafir’.
Now, looking at her, one might think she looks different from back in the day.
Well, the ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’ actor had earlier admitted going under the knife and getting surgery done to alter her looks. However, now she thinks that opening up about her plastic surgery was the biggest mistake of her life as she was tortured for it for nearly three years. Moreover, many Bollywood celebs even distanced themselves from her.
“When I came here, I did not know that one must not speak about one’s surgery,” Hindustan Times quoted her saying.
“Someone asked me, and I talked about my surgery. Soon after that, it felt like the entire world came after me. I was tortured for my surgery for three long years. Constantly, the media ran negative news items about me. Many people from the industry also distanced themselves from me at the time and it also affected my work. I feel like laughing because people would advise me to stay strong, but not support me in front of the media.”
She concluded, “My face, my life, whatever I do, what have other people to do with it?”
This created a gap between her and the industry. That’s when she decided to leave for the United States. However, she might be seen on the screen soon, reported The Indian Express.
Mitra who has been a part of the Indian film industry for a considerable amount of time admits that nepotism and groupism exist in the film industry.

“I have faced all kinds of behaviour. There was a time when I got a big break, despite being an outsider. On the other hand, when I need them the most, no one from the industry stood up for me. I will always have this complaint against the industry that they did not speak for me openly.”
Mitra is celebrated for her performance in films such as ‘Road’, ‘Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena’, ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’, ‘Om Shanti Om’, and ‘Heyy Babyy’.
