O Saki Saki Fame Koena Mitra Sentenced To 6 Months In Jail, Says She’s Been Framed

Koena Mitra, who is best known for her popular Bollywood item number Saki Saki from Musafir is hitting headlines lately. And it isn’t about any new film or a song but about her imprisonment!

Koena Mitra has been sentenced to six months in jail, following a cheque-bouncing case. Model Poona Sethi registered the complaint against Koena after a cheque given to her by the actress bounced in 2013 reportedly for ‘want of funds’. Koena had borrowed 22 Lakhs from the model and the cheque was a part of the repayment.

Accordingly, the court had ordered Koena to pay Sethi Rs 4.64 lakhs in all, of which 1.64 lakhs was the interest, reports Hindustan Times.

“It is a court matter, so obviously we will go to the higher court to challenge the order. The higher court will give us an order (and) only then can we talk about it. Right now, I don’t have anything to say except that it’s a fraud case and I am being framed,” said Koena.

Koena’s plea was rejected at Andheri Metropolitan court in Mumbai by Magistrate Ketaki Chavan. She claimed that Sethi could not afford to give her a loan of Rs 22 Lakh in the argument. The actress said that her lawyers weren’t prepared for her final argument and so, the decision came without listening to her side of the argument. Koena also plans to move to a higher court with her case.

“My advocate has to appear for the final argument, too, and the magistrate didn’t give me a chance. We will challenge this order in the higher court,” she said.

We hope the issue gets resolved soon!
