This pandemic has been extremely hard for our medical professionals, having to work hard round the clock in complete PPE gear. But these frontline heroes are still leaving no stone unturned to ensure their patient’s mental and physical well-being. For instance, a Mumbai doctor danced to the song ‘Garmi’ in A PPE kit, and a doctor sang for an elderly woman in the COVID ward and kissed her head to cheer her up. Here’s is another similar incident which will surely win your heart.

As per a report in The New Indian Express, a 37-year old junior consultant psychiatrist named Dr. Sreejith Krishnan danced in Prabhu Deva style for his patients with intellectual disabilities admitted to the COVID First-Line Treatment Centre (CFLTC) at the College of Agriculture at Padannakkad. Speaking about the impromptu dance, he said, “I just wanted to make them comfortable and happy.”

The caption reads, “In this COVID times, here is a humble artiste putting up a show to bring happiness to patients with intellectual disabilities. Respect to Dr. Sreejith.” In the video, the song ‘Guleba’ from the movie ‘Gulaebaghavali’ starring Prabhu Deva and Hansika can be heard in the background being played on a phone.

It was reportedly around 7.30 pm on the eve of Uttradam when Dr. Krishnan was making his daily rounds to the CFLTC at the agriculture college. He explains, “Most of my patients have schizophrenia and mood swings. They are normal because of the medication. But I wanted to pep up their mood.” The patients are among the 15 persons with intellectual disabilities who had tested positive for coronavirus at a Keezhur rehab center last week.
