A couple of days ago, Deepika Padukone was engaged in an indirect war of words with a social media influencer who took a dig at her “short” clothes which she wore for the promotions of ‘Gehraiyaan’. This started a debate on social media about people judging women for the kind of clothes they choose to wear.
Evoking the same thought, a journalist recently asked Kangana Ranaut what were her views on this incident at a press conference. The ‘Queen’ actor lashed out at the journo and asked her to sit down, reported Hindustan Times.

“We still have actresses being judged for the length of their necklines and hemlines. The recent case being Deepika Padukone who was targetted by an influencer over the promotional dresses that she wore. For someone who has been a voice for women and actresses, I want to know how you reflect back on this?” the journalist asked. Â
To this, Kangana responded:
“Look, I am here to defend those who can’t defend themselves. Alright? She can defend herself. She has the privilege, the platform and I can’t promote her film here. Sit down.”

When the journalist clarified that she wasn’t trying to promote Deepika’s film, Kangana replied, “Of course, you named the film. You are also naming a film which is coming. Obviously, you are being planted by the PRs of the said film. Arre yaar, hum itne bhi toh naadaan nahi hai na (We are not so naive).”
