The wedding season is finally here! However, this year marriage festivities will be slightly different. Not only will families have to follow social distancing rules but there is also a strict restriction on the number of guests that can attend the event.
Speaking of which, cops in Haryana’s Gurugram can attend any wedding events in the city without invitation and issue fines to people not wearing masks, reports NDTV. The authorities have made it compulsory to keep a check on COVID-19 protocols at huge gatherings amid the pandemic. Only a gathering of 50 people is allowed in the city for weddings.
According to an order issued by Gurugram police commissioner KK Rao, cops will keep a check on guests and urge them to follow social distancing guidelines in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
The move comes amid a significant increase in coronavirus cases in Haryana. According to TOI, the active cases in the city have crossed 3,700 for the first time. Authorities in Gurugram will also randomly test people coming into the city from Delhi which is struggling with its worst phase of the COVID-19 pandemic so far. During these testing times, it’s important that we follow protocols. Don’t you think so? Tell us!
