Facebook’s New Feature Will Help You Avoid Your Ex During Your Break-Up

Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook to bring people together. Now it will help people break up. Breaking up is hard to do and so is unfriending or blocking an ex on Facebook.

So, Facebook is planning to roll out new tools to make moving on a little less depressing.

They are testing a new feature that will allow users to ‘take a break’ from a relationship.

So, if you change your status to single, Facebook will ask if you want to ‘take a break’.

It’s impossible to remove your ex from the social media, even if you remove him/her from your life.

So, this step might help heartbroken users avoid their exes.

This can help you go beyond unfollowing someone and also not blocking that particular person.

The name won’t show up in the News Feed or while tagging friends in photos.

This is what Facebook had to say in its blog post:

“We’re starting to test these tools today in the US on mobile, and we’ll make changes and roll them out further based on people’s feedback. All of these tools are optional, and people will be able to access them in the help center anytime.”

In short:

Facebook’s new feature is basically “Kalmuhi, don’t show me your face…on Facebook”.
On a serious note, it’s a good step forward by Facebook by adding this empathetic feature.
