An incident that took place at a restaurant in the Foshan region of Guangdong in Southern China will make you question the amount of humanity left in this world. In a shocking case of irresponsibility and cold-heartedness, a Chinese father left his daughter at a restaurant to make up for his shortage of money!
In the CCTV footage going viral, the man can be seen walking out of the restaurant as the child cries loudly and runs towards him. According to reports, the man consumed a meal worth 6 yuan (Rs 62) but fell short of 1 yuan (Rs 10) while making the payment. Therefore, he decided to pawn his 2-year-old daughter and planned to pick her up the next day!
According to Sothern Television Guangdong,
“I am going to leave her here as a pawn. I’ll come back tomorrow with cash and get her.”
However, the restaurant owner fed the girl after he left and made her comfortable. Speaking about the same, he said,
“We sat the girl down in the kitchen and gave her a bottle of soy milk.”

Unable to find the man, the restaurant informed the police about the incident. The father did come back after a long time and was shocked to see that his daughter wasn’t there. He went on to shout at the restaurant owner for informing the police. He also got a ‘stern lecture’ from the police when he went to the station to collect his daughter.
We are appalled to come across the lack of feeling in the father who could place his own daughter as a replacement for cash. Truly awful.
