In today’s fast-paced pandemic world, many people have been going through mental blocks and burnouts. But thankfully, stories of parents and peers uplifting and encouraging each other are plenty. For instance, a 21-year old CA student was met with helpful advice when he felt unmotivated, or how a loving dad offered some badass advice to his daughter on her 21st birthday like ‘cry over biryani, not people’.
An MBBS student took to Twitter to share a heartwarming anecdote about what her dad said to her when he found her crying before her anatomy exam. She started to have second thoughts about her chosen field, but her father uplifted her through an advice that involves an interesting train metaphor. Check it out:
Storytime: So I was super depressed before my Anatomy paper, I couldn't stop crying because I thought I have forgotten everything, I called baba and told him that I should have chosen some other profession and then he said,

there used to be a saying that *agr badshah na bnskte to tabeeb bn jao* this profession demands hard work. Also, he said that in a train every person reaches the same destination, it doesn’t matter if you are in the front box or the last one. The main goal was the catch the train

and you did. So if anyone is feeling depressed and can’t study and think that they can’t do well in the exam just remember this.
I know we all have been the toppers before MBBS and it’s very hard to admit that you are an average student now. But you caught the train— ❄⁷ (@Chalo_nikloo) December 3, 2020
out of millions and that’s what matters the most.

Another user echoed the same sentiment by sharing his friend’s experience whilst continuing the dad’s train metaphor:
Mera dost @guy_inthesky train k pechay rassi se bandha hua aya tha and now he is one brilliant doctor. Grades don’t matter. Your approach towards the patient is all what matters.

A lot of other people were able to find solace in her father’s words:
Mujhe tou lg rha hei akhri dabbay k peechy jo railing hei uss sey latak rai hu 👍

It’s okay to not be okay sometimes. More power to all those who would be our future frontline warriors!
