Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Asks For Books Instead Of Bouquets; Earns Praise Online

Flowers are the prettiest, aren’t they? I am sure receiving a beautiful bouquet surely puts a smile on your face but we all can agree it is an unnecessary wastage of the charming blossoms. This is precisely the reason PM Modi has banned people from gifting him flowers.

Recently, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) president Hemant Soren appealed people to gift him books instead of bouquets, reports News 18. He requested people to gift him books as they are filled with knowledge. He told all his wellwishers and supporters that he felt bad about not being able to manage the flowers.

Check out his Tweet:

Soren fought the Assembly elections from Jharkhand in alliance with the Congress party and the Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) and won with a clear majority. He was sworn in as the 11th chief minister of Jharkhand at Morhabadi ground, reports Times of India.

After his win, he shared a photo of all the books he had received as gifts instead of bouquets.

Later, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia appreciated the thoughtful move:

Many others also applauded Soren’s alternative gift choice:

We completely agree with this wise and sensible gift swap, what do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
