Every time a new movie poster is put up or its theatrical trailer is unveiled, does the movie buff in you get excited. Did I hear a yes? And, if you are a Bolly-buff then, we’re sure you look forward to every Friday to catch your favourite star’s film on the silver screen.

If you thought 2017 was a year high on cinema and had you impressed, then doston let me introduce you to the list of Bollywood movies releasing in 2018. Because, itni saari picture dekha abhi baaki hain mere dost.

1. Pad Man

Release date: January 26, 2018

West has Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and India has Pad Man. The Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor starrer’s trailer has really upped the hopes for Twinkle Khanna’s maiden production venture. The story is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who changed the industry of sanitary pad.

2. Hichki

Release Date: February 23, 2018

How refreshing is it to see Rani Mukerji back on the screen?! Bringing us a tale that’s very hatke, this Siddharth P Malhotra helmed film is the official remake of the American film Front of the Class (2008). It’s seems to be a ride full of laughs and tears, a slice of life.

3. Student of the Year 2

Another SOTY is here (almost) with a new batch of students, Tiger Shroff and the fresh face that Mr. Johar is launching is Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya Pandey. Let’s see how these students fare at the box-office exams.

4. Pari

Starring Anushka Sharma and Tollywood star Parambrata Chatterjee in it, the film is Anushka’s home co-production. If rumours are anything to go by then, the character Anushka plays is that of an abuse victim. Still more details about the flick are yet to be unraveled.

5. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi

After pulling off various roles, Kangana Ranaut is all set to play the role of Rani of Jhansi. The biographical film is directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi aka Krish and will map Rani Laxmibai’s fight against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.

6. Veere Di Wedding

Four girls, one wedding and a lot of bonding. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania in key roles, the film is rumoured to be based on/inspired by/ remake of Sisterhood of Travelling Pants. But the first poster has us really excited about this one!

7. Fanne Khan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is back on-screen with Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. How will anyone try and miss this one? BTW, it is the official remake of the Belgian film Everybody’s Famous.

8. Gold

Directed by Reema Kagti, it is a story from the golden pages of history. Akshay Kumar is all set to play ace hockey player, Kishan Lal (under whose leadership the Indian hockey team bagged the Gold Medal at the 1948 London Olympics).

9. Thugs of Hindostan

Based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s novel Confessions of a Thug (1839), the film has a thundering star-cast of Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Katrina Kaif, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub. It’s said to be a period-action adventure.

10. Chanda Mama Door Ke

The Sushant Singh Rajput, R Madhavan and Shraddha Kapoor film is going to clash with Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man. It’s science-fiction space film, and we’re yet to see the trailer of the same.

11. Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in 1998. It stars John Abraham and Diana Penty in key roles.

12. Manto

The versatile star Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to play the Indo-Pakistani short-story writer Sadat Hasan Manto. Directed by Nandita Das, the film’s promo was screened at Cannes 2017 and won a lot of acclaim.

With Varun Dhawan and newcomer Banita Sandhu, this Shoojit Sircar film titled October is releasing in the month of April. Not much is known about the story, but since Sircar has always impressed us, we’re waiting for it.

14. 2.0

Made on a budget of ₹450 crores, the S. Shankar film stars none other than Thalaiva Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. It’s India’s first 3D shot film and a sequel to Enthiran.

15. Dhadak

Marking their debut in Bollywood are Shahid Kapoor’s baby-bro, Ishaan Khattar and Sridevi’s daughter, Janhvi Kapoor. The film is the official remake of the Marathi film Sairat.

16. Sahoo

Starring Baahubali Prabhas, it will also see Shraddha Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Jackie Shroff in lead. The film is shot simultaneously in Hindi, Telegu and Tamil.

17. Sui Dhaaga: Made in India

Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan are coming together for a Sharat Katariya film, that is prepping for a Gandhi jayanti release. It is said to be based on the Make in India initiatives.

18. Kedarnath

Saif Ali Khan’s beti Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput are going to be seen romancing in the Abhishek Kapoor film, which is going to clash with SRK’s film where he plays a dwarf.

19. SRK-Aanand L Rai’s untitled film

Shah Rukh Khan is to be seen in the role of a dwarf in Aanand L. Rai’s film. It’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan all over again because it stars SRK, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead. The film is rumoured to have many celeb cameos too.

20. The Accidental Prime Minister

Anupam Kher is going to play the role of Dr. Manmohan Singh, India’s ex-Prime Minister in this Hansla Mehta film. Look-wise, Anupam is nailing it and we can’t wait to see what he has in store, story-wise. The film is based on the 2014 memoir of the same name by Sanjaya Baru.

21. Simmba

Essaying the character of Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba is eclectic star Ranveer Singh. And, it is a Rohit Shetty film so entertainment is guaranteed. (Is it just me or even you are getting Singham meets Chulbul Pandey feels?)

22. Raazi

The Meghna Gulzar film will see Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt together in a story based on Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat. It’s the story of a Kashmiri spy married to a Pakistani man during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.

Phew! Not only these, films like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Bhavesh Joshi, Kalakandi, Race 3, Krish 4, and biopics, and many more are releasing next year.
