Bihar Man Organizes Funeral Procession For Pet Dog With Band-Baja, Villagers Bid Farewell

Trigger Warning: Death of a pet. Visuals may be disturbing for some.

Those who have loved and looked after a pet would truly understand the unbearable pain of losing them. I am a dog parent and I can’t even imagine what it would be like when one day there would be no tail-wagging, no puppy eyes, and no jumping for treats. Life is better around dogs; without them, there is a deep void.

To honour the precious companionship that was given by his pet dog, a man in Vidyapati Nagar in the Samastipur district of Bihar recently organised a funeral procession with band-baja after the pet, Tony, passed away.

According to Times Now, the owner, Naresh Sah, had brought Tony home 12 years ago. He loved him immensely and Tony soon became an integral part of the family.

Not just to Naresh and his family, Tony was loved by everyone in their village. This is why, many of them joined Tony’s funeral procession to bid him a final goodbye.

In a video that captured the funeral, Tony can be seen draped in a cloth and carried on a cart, which is well decorated with flowers. The song ‘Teri Meherbaniya’ was dedicated to him. Finally, Tony was buried on the banks of the Baya river following proper Hindu rituals.
