‘Stop Generalising Bengali Women’ Says Twitter After Trolls Attack Bengalis Post Rhea Chakraborty FIR

Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case took a different turn when his father, Krishna Kumar Singh, filed an FIR against the late actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty for allegedly pressurising, manipulating, and confining him for financial gains. Since then, Rhea has been on the receiving end of a lot of flak from people online.

However, not just Rhea Chakraborty, but the entire Bengali community, especially Bengali women are being trolled online by people who are stereotyping them as “gold-diggers”, “dominating”, “manipulative”, and ones who ruin men’s careers.

Not just Bengalis, but good people on the internet have stood up against such insensitive trolling. Many highlighted how generalising an entire community based on the actions of one person, allegations of which still haven’t been proved in the court of law, is nothing but disgraceful. Have a look:

It is nothing but shameful to use a person’s alleged ill actions to stereotype and shame an entire community. At a time when we are hit by a global crisis, struggling with mental health and the idea of an uncertain future, we should only be kind towards each other instead of spreading hate.
