Bengaluru Girl Commits Suicide After Pet’s Death. Sad Friend Follows Suit And Ends Life.

The death of someone close is probably the saddest thing to deal with. Gloomy days are followed by despairing nights. But, it is also the unwritten rule of emotions that as days pass by, the intensity of sorrow goes on reducing and our coping mechanisms help us get our life back on track. Only if this was also the case with the story I am going to tell you today.

Depressed over the death of a pet, a 19-year-old girl, C Gamini, in Bengaluru, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house. Following this, her friend, P Mallesh too jumped in front of a train and ended his life.

Gamini was a BCom student at the RPA College in Rajajinagar. Her mother was a teacher and her father worked as a driver.

Although there were contrary reports of Gamini taking the extreme step because of harassment by P. Mallesh, the case took a different turn when the overwhelmed guy too ended his life because of Gamini’s death.

As reported by Times Of India, here is what her mother told the police about Gamini’s despairing condition before she died.

“Jimmy was with us for over four years and died of illness in July. Gamini changed a lot after Jimmy’s death and we did everything we could to make her happy. We even got her another dog last week and named him Jimmy.”

However, Gamini was unable to cope up with the loss and allegedly decided to take this extreme step.

On the other hand, as per a report by News Nation, Mallesh’s father claimed that he was completely clueless about the reason behind his son’s suicide. Additionally, there was no suicide note found which led the police to suspect that because of Gamini’s death, Mallesh decided to end his life too.

It is immensely saddening to see young lives being wasted due to mere lack of coping mechanisms. It also brings us to the importance of imparting emotional education in today’s world. Not every injury is visible. We don’t want to lose more people.
