Army Officer Visits Mother To Give His Last Salute To Her On Retiring After 35 Years

As kids, we are taken care of by our parents who become our friends, confidant, and protectors as we grow up. With time, the bond strengthens with them making us responsible by letting us take important decisions that they used to take earlier.

And over time, the roles reverse and their kids become their caretakers.

This video showcasing the special bond between a mother and her son is going viral for all the right reasons.

Major General Ranjan Mahajan, who is also a motivational speaker, recently retired from the services after serving and protecting India for 35 long years.

The ex-army officer is glad that he was the chosen one who got the opportunity to proudly wear the prestigious uniform and serve the country. Ranjan, however, acknowledges the fact that it was because of his mother that he was able to do this.

Hence, before hanging his uniform, he decided to pay a visit to his mother and drove down from Ambala to Delhi to give his final salute to the woman who gave him the life he has today.

In the clip, Major General Ranjan is seen marching toward his mother in his uniform. He then gives his last salute to her. She also salutes him back.

The mother and son then hug each other and celebrate this happy moment in their lives.

Captioning the video, the Major General wrote:

“Final salute to my mother before hanging my uniform. We drove down from Ambala to Delhi and it was a total surprise to my mother, who having given birth and made me worthy of this life and uniform to serve my motherland with pride for 35 years. Given an opportunity will always be ready to serve the elite Indian Army once again.”
