The queen of DIY, Uorfi Javed has been making statements with her experimental fashion using materials and designs no one would have ever imagined. She took to designing clothes for herself when no one decided to invest in her or her ideas. But, she took it one day at a time, one dress at a time, and became the talk of the town.

But finally, her hard work paid off when the pioneers of high fashion in India, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, decided to dress her up for a shoot.

Sharing this delightful news, Uorfi took to Instagram and wrote how the designers have made her feel empowered and accepted.
“I am thrilled to be dressed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. They are masters of what they do and have made me feel all the more empowered with their acceptance of who I am. No designers would give me clothes which is why I started making my own. Abu Sandeep have changed that for me. @abujanisandeepkhosla” (sic)

Soon after, Uorfi made it to the cover of Dirty magazine and was styled by celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania. For this shoot, the social media personality bleached her eyebrows and dyed her hair pink.

Sharing Uorfi’s pictures from the shoot, the fashion stylist Anaita shared that it broke her heart when designers refused to dress her.
“What better than a custom diy look for the undisputed queen of DIY @urf7i. I’ve long admired her love for fashion and tenacity to follow her passion. It broke my heart when designers refused to dress her, but undeterred she set up her own workshop and created her interpretations daily! Fashion is for everyone. I promised you this day would come, covergirl Uorfi!” (sic)
But Anaita is proud that Uorfi made it to be the cover girl. Praising Uorfi’s hard work and love for fashion, she wrote:
“Today for @thedirtymagazine she wears some of the most creative labels, custom made for her.
