Here Is Why You Should Take A Solo Trip While You’re In A Relationship

Every once in a while in your life, there comes a time when you need to get away from the daily grind, and get a change in scenery and people and experiences. Travelling gives you all of the above. But travelling solo has its own beauty. One finds oneself while on the journey alone.

Solo travelling while you are in a relationship is very rarely heard of. But it has its own upsides.

1. Detox from people

You tend to be around your partner and other people constantly while you’re in your world. Taking a solo trip gives you the little pleasures getting away from the people who are constantly around you. It’s like a detoxification and it rejuvenates you to be by yourself for a while.

2. You can be by yourself

Alone time is what we all crave at some point in our lives. And you cannot be alone by being in and around your place of habitation, you WILL run into people. By travelling by yourself, you learn to love yourself and that being alone isn’t bad at all, and that you actually enjoy it.

3. You realise that you’re self-sufficient

Travelling alone will result in fending for yourself. And doing that will make you realise that you don’t need someone else to take care of you. This will keep you from being spoiled by your partner and you’ll know that you can take good care of yourself.

4. You will realise your partner’s importance

By being away from your significant other, you will end up giving them more credit than you actually do. You’ll learn to respect them and see them in a whole new light, by being away from them. Yes, it’s one of the beautiful paradoxes of life. “Distance makes the heart grow fonder!”

5. See life through a new lens

When you travel, it will occur to you that you’re missing out on the little gems in life. Once you break the routine, you see life from an entirely different perspective, and once that has been achieved, there is no going back.

6. A break from the monotony

Travelling solo brings with it a welcome change in your daily life. Being away from your daily grind and routine life and also the faces that you see every day makes you open to exploration of other avenues and hence refreshes you like nothing else.

7. You get to meet new people

Travelling alone in another land opens the doors for making new acquaintances, meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures. Travelling alone single might lead you to frequent hookups, but travelling alone while in a relationship gives you the advantage of making new friends. It’s rejuvenating.

8. A renewed respect for your relationship

Being away from your partner, and not performing relationship duties for a while, gives you an outsider’s perspective on your relationship. You introspect on all the things you went through in the relationship, and it will make you realise how important it has been to you.

9. Finish that book which you’ve kept pending

In the day to day activities of life, relationship, work, and other social commitments, you lose time for yourself, and your personal interests. Taking time away from all this, and dedicating it for yourself, will enable you to get back to that hobby which you kept putting for later.

10. You have your SO waiting for you

What you have gone through on this solo trip, your other half also has, back home. Even they have a renewed view on the relationship, they’ve also been alone and have thought over things and how important you are to them. And you have them to go to when you eventually return home. What’s better than a waiting S.O. when you go home from a solo trip! ^_^

So fear not, and let your wings unfurl because your nest is where it will always be, warm and with its doors open.

Happy travels! ✈
