The Hindi Film Industry has given us some of the most iconic characters which will be remembered forever. One of such characters is Kalia from ‘Sholay’ played by Viju Khote whose dialogues are quoted even to this day. Truly, we have lost a gem of an actor.
Veteran film and theatre actor Viju Khote passed away this morning in Mumbai. According to a report by NDTV, the 77-year-old actor, who had been ill for quite some time and suffered from multiple organ failures, died a peaceful death in his sleep.
His niece Bhavana Balsavar was recorded saying that Viju Khote was brought back from the hospital as he wanted to be with his family during his last few days.
The actor has been seen in more than 300 films in Hindi and Marathi. His most celebrated performances are from ‘Sholay’ and ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’. His famous dialogue from the latter “Galti se mistake ho gaya” make us giggle even today!

Actor Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to write a heartwarming message for his farewell. Fans also bid goodbye to the phenomenal actor and expressed their sadness.
