The couple also hosted a wedding reception in Bareilly for which the ‘Veere Di Wedding’ actor decided to get their outfits specially made by an artist across the border.
Taking to Twitter, Swara shared details of her Walima (wedding reception) outfit which came all the way from Lahore via Dubai- Bombay-Delhi finally to her in Bareilly.
The beige-coloured lehenga that she wore was by a Pakistani designer named Ali Xeeshan.
“I’ve long marvelled at the talent of #AliXeeshan #AliXeeshanTheatreStudio. When I called him with an idea of wearing his work @ Walima, his warmth & generosity made me admire the person,” Swara wrote in the tweet.

The actor accompanied the gorgeous outfit with a huge nath (nose hoop) and mata patti. Her look, complete with a heavy neckpiece, exuded maharani vibes.
Complimenting her, her husband Fahad wore a gold kurta, a white sherwani, and a white and gold dupatta.
In another tweet, Swara shared that Fahad’s outfit was also customized by Ali in Pakistan.
She made a special mention of her friend from across the border, Sec & Humanitarian Adviser to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Myanmar, Annie Zaman, who enabled the outfits to reach Dubai.
. Ali Xeeshan not only sent Jodi outfits for @FahadZirarAhmad & me, but customised them painstakingly with personalised details & messages embroidered into the exquisite garments. My sarhad-paar ki bestie @Natrani came to our rescue & enabled the outfits to reach Dubai. ♥️ 2/n pic.twitter.com/vLcChhXyCW

Expressing her gratitude to Annie and Ali for sending the couple their dream outfit for their wedding finale, Swara shared:
“From sarhad paar Annie rescued me in crisis. Ali who has never met me & is based in Lahore managed to send me my dream outfit for a wedding finale! Makes me realise love & friendship cannot be contained in borders & boundaries. Feeling blessed & grateful.” (sic)

But, no matter what her intentions and wishes for her big way were, people online couldn’t digest the fact that she chose to dress in an outfit by a Pakistani designer.
This is how some people felt about it:
Your marriage should have taken place in Lahore itself! Would have been more convenient for Rahul & gang!

Even your sensibilities seem to come all the way from Lahore.

I think it’s better to shift to Lahore as well . U can make a lot more people happy .

Damn.. these days some girls go to the lengths of getting married just so that they could praise their favorite country.

Why would you opt for a Pak designer for your walima outfit?
Secondly, you feel the need to mention it….
Your wish…but it signals many things.— Peeps (@VerBubbly) March 21, 2023
why couldn’t you find anyone suitable in lucknow or Delhi or mumbai…why do you have to go brown-nosing Lahore designers.

There’s a place near Bareilly and it’s called Rampur. If us famous for farshi ghararas which look much more prettier than this dress. Well,,not everybody can afford to have fine taste in clothes

Ofcourse your dress would have come from Pakistan. Even if you had not mentioned, everyone would have known that.
Wedding dress to sasuraal se hi aati hai na. To Pakistan se aa gayi.

Love for pakistan is evident. Please leave her to pakistan. Her and his husband both are required to move pakistan if they need attire from lahore.
