We all know comedian Kapil Sharma has enough money to probably buy his weight in gold. In fact, ever since becoming the star of his own show on prime time television, Kapil reportedly earns ₹60-80 lakhs per episode! That adds up to even more than several Bollywood film stars. Well, it turns out that this year, the comedian has even paid an advance tax comparable to A-list celebrities.
This year, Kapil Sharma entered the list of top-10 Bollywood celebrity advance tax-payers for the year 2016-17. According to official data, Kapil paid a whopping ₹23.9 crore in advance tax, up from ₹7 crore last year.
With this, Kapil zoomed past celebrities including Ranbir Kapoor (₹16.5 crore), Aamir Khan (₹14.8 crore), Karan Johar (₹11.7 crore), Deepika Padukone (₹10.25 crore), Alia Bhatt (₹4.33 crore) and Kareena Kapoor (₹3.9 crore), in his debut year on the list.
However, Kapil certainly paled in comparison to Bollywood icon Salman Khan, who paid a whopping ₹44.5 crore in advance tax and top the list this year.
Salman Khan was closely followed by Akshay Kumar (₹29.5 crore) and Hrithik Roshan (₹25.5 crore).
While some of us only dream of earning in crores, mostly just single digits, these celebrities are paying 10 times that as advance tax. Wah!
