93-YO Granny From Maharashtra Reunites With Her Family After 40 Years, Thanks To Social Media

Never underestimate the power of social media; esp in today’s age and time, where digital platforms can be used to help individuals in trouble. For instance, people online helped a 12-YO stranded in Dwarka reunite with his family or a Punjab cop’s viral video helped an elderly man find his family.

Speaking of which, a 93-year-old woman reunited with her family after 40 years, thanks to social media. Almost 53 years ago, Panchu Bai was attacked by bees in Damoh village of Madhya Pradesh, reports Times Now. Back then, a man named Noor Khan not only saved her life but took her home to give her refuge.

However, while Panchu Bai only spoke her native language, Marathi, she still became a part of the family. They all even started calling her ‘Mausi’ affectionately. Sadly, Noor Khan passed away in 2007 but his son, Israr, and his family took good care of her. They treated her like their own grandmother.

One day, while Israr was scrolling through his phone, he asked mausi about her past as he wanted to help her find her village. However, all she could recollect was “Khanjnama” and “Pathrot”. On googling the words, Israr found out that Pathrot was her native village.

With the help of Whatsapp, he got in touch with a villager and sent him a photo of mausi. In no time, they were able to find her family. Panchu Bai had reportedly disappeared after she had gone for treatment in Nagpur. However, she had no idea how she reached that particular village.

Nonetheless, it was time for her to bid goodbye to Israr’s family after 40 years. Her farewell was filled with tears as villagers bid adieu to their beloved mausi. They all came to see her off and wished her well. It was a special moment for her grandson, Prithvi Kumar Shingle, who had seen her for the very first time.

Well, this tale of reunion and goodbye sure made me emotional. How about you? Tell us in the comments below.
