Sapna Bhavnani Is Asking A Very Important Question, We Bet You Don’t Have The Answer For!

Sapna

Sapna Moti Bhavnani is my soul sister I believe (or someone who I badly want to be SS with). It wasn’t long ago when she gave us a lesson or two on how to handle breakups like adults. Now, the celebrity hair stylist/entrepreneur/activist has a word of advice for the impressionable minds that are seemingly trading on thin lines. Lines where ‘objectification’ now masquerades as a social cause!

Sapna recently took to Facebook and expressed her bewilderment about the need to please, people struggle with. And the double standards that expect people to shed clothes in the name of liberation. Or the co-relation of clothes with freedom at all. You cannot believe the sense it makes. Read the entire post to do so.

It’s no secret that the less clothes you wear on social media the more likes/followers you get. Although it’s visually appealing to see so many naked people on my timeline, it’s also very sad to see so many women/men fall prey to this sneaky advertising gimmick of convincing people that it’s liberation and some sort of feminist movement. The brands continue objectifying men and women but now under the pretence of “personal choice.”
Ever wonder why there is no “revolution” of putting clothes on instead? And why is fully clothed considered regressive even if personal choice? As a feminist we fight for our right to wear what we want (less or more) when we want and to see brands use that as a way of pimping their products is really shameful. Don’t be a product of some media fueled revolution. To be comfortable in your skin has got nothing to do with taking or keeping your clothes on. “Don’t be a pawn styled like a queen in someone’s else’s’ chess game, Own your own game. Actually, fuck games.”

Because somewhere between fighting for equal rights and gender neutrality we have forgotten who our actual foes are! Thank you, Sapna. Wish we had more like you!
