If you live in the heart of a city, it is quite normal to fantasize about escaping to a hill station. The nature, the greenery and the clean air. What happens if you cannot visit a hill station? What happens if visiting nature is not in your reach? Surely, nature cannot come to you! But what if it could? What if you could create an indoor jungle?
That’s exactly what Summer Rayne Oakes did. She lives in Brooklyn, New York and is an environmental scientist. She literally grew an indoor jungle INSIDE her 1,200 square-foot apartment and credits this indoor jungle for her sanity in a bustling metropolis of New York.
“I think that the only way I’ve really been able to survive in New York is by surrounding myself with plants”
1. She planted over 500 plants
2. These plants are all over her apartment
3. She seems really content with them
4. Interior decoration has been taken care of I guess
5. She has potted every single one of the plants herself
6. Even the tiny cute ones like these!
7. Just imagine sleeping in this bed
8. The view is better on this side of the window
9. Imagine relaxing in this hammock!
10. Taking care of them must be quite a task
11. That’s a good hack to pot plants when you don’t have flower pots
12. Her home is greener than my garden
13. The rustle of the leaves inside the bedroom
14. The indoor jungle also provides tiny potatoes!
15. This is totally on a whole new level
16. Some plants need more moisture
17. You can just sprinkle water on the plants after washing hands!
18. Living rooms do not look this awesome
I know how I am decorating my own place now!
