What don’t we do for our hair?
We buy expensive products and splurge half our salaries just to be able to look good. And our hair is the most important part of looking good. Hair is a crucial part of self-esteem. But do we really need to spend so much on them? Can we not have a more economical and less invasive way of making our hair healthy?
Well, there is! Sitting right there in your kitchen!
1. Honey
Let me tell you by my first-hand experience, honey is a wonder ingredient. You can make amazing hair masks with honey and other ingredients. Honey makes your hair softer. But the drawback is that excessive use can bleach your hair. So use it in moderation.
2. Peanut oil
They say coconut oil is good for hair. But let me tell you, all oils are good for hair. Especially cooking oil filled with essential vitamins such as Vitamin E, A and D. It is believed to make hair darker and thicker.
3. Mayonnaise
Mayo is a good substitute for yoghurt or curd for softer hair because it contain unprocessed fats.
4. Baking soda
You can use baking soda effectively when there is oil build up in your hair and you’re not in a position to wash it. It soaks up the oil and stops your hair from smelling.
5. Ghee butter
Clarified butter can work wonders in thickening and is extremely good at softening your hair.
6. Garlic
Garlic is a good remedy for hair loss. Cut up some garlic and put it in some water in a glass container overnight and use that tonic all over your hair before shampooing. To increase the effectiveness, keep it on for some time.
7. Apple Cider Vinegar
It’s one of the most popular products used for making one’s hair healthy and lustrous and can be used independently as well as along with a mask.
8. Brown Sugar
A Brown sugar scrub is good or your face. But did you know you can use it on your hair too? It doesn’t just exfoliate but makes the texture of your hair better.
9. Cornstarch
The same as baking soda, cornstarch can be used as an oil soak up when dry, and in a mask to make your hair softer.
10. Coffee/Tea
Coffee or tea are used to help hair retain color and also reducing the grayness of hair. Boil a cupful of coffee/tea and let it cool off for some time, pour it over your hair after taking a shower. It also makes your hair smell good!
11. Tomato Ketchup
Ketchup can be used to make your hair regain your original hair color after a chemical treatment.
12. Fenugreek (Methi)
Methi is known as a great thing to make your hair lustrous and thick. It can be used in a powder form in a mask or a paste form. But the best way of making it work is to eat it. 🙂
