10 Bollywood Celebrities Who Adopted Kids And Gave Them The Lives They Deserved

“Parenthood requires love and not DNA.”

There is a lot of wrong with the world we live in, but compassion makes it a little bearable, and you know who teaches us to love with imperfections – parents. To them, their kids are the best in the whole effing UNIVERSE. And OMG, the overload of love that comes your way when you are an Indian kid, they don’t make words for that.

And if love knew DNA, compassion would cease to exist and kindness would be as volatile as a political debate. Thank God, it’s not. Did you know that according to a report, 7700 Indian couples applied for adopting kids in 2016? This number is not as huge as compared to other countries, but it’s still a step.

And well, some of our favourite Bollywood celebrities are also in the list of these proud parents. Being influencers and public figures, it affects influential minds to know that there is no stigma attached to adoption. And that it’s an honour to be parents. Biological or adopted are just mere words. Let’s check the list!

1. Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber

The new addition to the list of proud parents is – Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber. They’ve just adopted a 21-months-old baby girl from Latur! The precious little girl is called Nisha Kaur Weber. Taking about her, Sunny said,

“She is so cute. The moment she looks up at you and smiles, it just melts your heart.”

 

2. Raveena Tondon

Not many people know that Raveen adopted two little girls when she was just 21 years old. Pooja (11) and Chayya (8) found their best friend/sister in their mother as they literally grew up together. Pooja is a successful event manager, while Chayya, an air-hostess just got married.

“My daughters are my best friends. I remember, when I got married, they were the ones who sat in the car and led me to the mandap. And now, I got the chance to walk them down the aisle. It is such a special feeling.”

She is also raising her biological kids, her daughter Rasha, 11 and her son, Ranbirvardhan, who is only 8 years old.

 

3. Dibakar Banerjee

The director of critically acclaimed movies like Koshla Ka Ghosla and Love Sex Aur Dhoka, Dibakar Banerjee and wife, Richa have adopted a daughter from a Mumbai based orphanage and they call her Ira!

Many reports suggest that Mithun adopted a baby girl who he found lying in a garbage bin in Kolkata. He named her Ishani and raised her with his three sons, Mimoh, Rimoh and Namashi.

 

5. Subhash Ghai

Director, producer Subhash Gahi adopted a daughter and named her Meghna. She has grown up to look after her own production school, The Whistling Woods. Meghna is actually the daughter of Subhash’s younger brother. He adopted her with his wife Rehana.

 

6. Nikhil Advani

Helmer of the films like Kal Ho Naa Ho and Salaam-e-Ishq, Nikhil Advani and his wife, Suparna, adopted a daughter when she was only 4 years of age. They call her Keya and Nikhil loves spending time with her!

 

7. Kunal Kohli

Kunal Kohli and his wife Ravina adopted their little daughter Radha when she was only 7 months old. He boasts about her like any proud father would. In one of the talk shows, he said,

“People always say that she’s lucky that she got us. But I always say that we are lucky that we got her.”

 

8. Sandip Soparrkar

Choreographer Sandip Sopparkar adopted a boy called Arjun and reportedly, he was India’s first single male to legally adopt a baby. Later he married his girlfriend, Jesse Randhawa, who Arjun calls ‘pumpkin’ with love.

 

9. Sushmita Sen

After a complicated legal battle, Sushmita Sen, a single mum was given full custody of daughter, Renee. In 2010, at the age of 35, she adopted another beautiful daughter, Alisah! And her Instagram posts are full of powerful quotes and adorable pictures of her loving daughters! For sample, look at this –

Salim Khan adopted a very young little girl, Arpita when he found her on the streets crying. Arpita soon became the heart of the Khan family as Salman, Arbaaz and Sohail were all brothers and they came to protect and love Arpita just like brothers do!
