Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s dominance in world cricket has been nothing short of extraordinary. With a century in every other game, his impeccable appetite for runs has left everyone in awe. Sitting at the top of the ICC ODI and Test rankings, he also has the numbers on his side, as proof.
A player who has made a habit to shatter records at ease was deservedly awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award on Tuesday. The Indian number 18 took the highest individual honor for sports in the country from the hands of President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
With the addition of the illustrious feather in his cap, Kohli became the third Indian cricketer to be crowned with the same. The legendary Sachin Tendulkar and former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni being the other two. Kohli was cheered on from the audience by his wife Anushka Sharma, mother Saroj Kohli and brother Vikas Kohli during the presentation.
Soon after being blessed with the prize, Kohli redefined husband goals in the most appropriate manner. Taking to his official Instagram account, he penned down a beautiful note for wife Anushka, flattering her ever-so-cutely.
In his note, Kohli termed Anushka as the reason behind his success. He also thanked the gorgeous diva for making him understand what love is.
