Vijay Mallya Wants To Clear His Debts & Twitter Has Opened Its Own Bank Of Memes

For the past few years, Vijay Mallya’s name has been taken while drinking a Kingfisher beer or talking about the debt in Public Sector Banks. Despite making billions of rupees through his airlines and breweries, Mallya is always referred to as the fugitive who ran away to escape the Debt Recovery Tribunal. However, the business tycoon has finally broken his silence and decided to put an end to this never-ending tussle.

According to NDTV, Vijay Mallya has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi and FM Arun Jaitley, which shows his intention to settle with Public Sector Banks.

“I wrote letters to both the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister on 15th April 2016 and am making these letters public to put things in the right perspective. No response was received from either of them.”

Mallya also talked about the fact that he wants to clear the debt he owes to the Public Sector Banks.

“I respectfully say that I have made and continue to make every effort, in good faith to settle with the Public Sector Banks. If politically motivated extraneous factors interfere, there is nothing that I can do.”

Mallya had left the country in March of 2016 with a debt of over ₹ 9,000 crores on his head. Since then, SBI and RBI have been criticised for not being able to recover those loans. However, this public letter from Mallya means that he’s ready to settle with them and conclude this cat-and-mouse chase.

Netizens imagined how Banks would react to Vijay Mallya’s letter and the results are hilarious.
