A 48-year-old former travel agent named Emma Martin has been into a bizarre business since 1999 that lets her earn $4,200 (Rs 3.05 lakh) online. It is called ‘flatulence camming’, yes you read that right!
As per a report in News18, the mother-of-two children from Rock Hill, South Carolina charges $4.99 (Rs. 366 approx.) per month for people to watch her ‘pass gas’ online. Having been in this business for over 20 years now, she explains how she followed a strict diet charge that helps her perform better. It consists of salads, avocados, and asparagus. Coleslaw with baked beans being her favourite, she also indulges in a lot of Mexican food.
Not only does she use a pseudonym, but only records her videos when her family isn’t home. Her husband is the only one in her family who knows of her bizarre career, and she mentioned he isn’t into farts at all. Her children don’t know of her online business, and she doesn’t mind if anyone else doesn’t approve of her and what she does as a grown woman.
With the username @fartinTart that has over 300 subscribers, she also sells custom-made videos to her devoted followers costing $7 (Rs. 514 approx.) per minute. Her earnings through these exclusive clients are around $1800 (Rs. 1,32,000 approx.) per month.
When she first heard about the weird fetish, she remembers thinking, “‘Eww, what? That can’t be a fetish.’But then I got into it. It’s kinda cool. It’s a well-hidden, secret fetish.” The concept has now eventually grown on her since then.
Revealing her fanbase, she categorizes them into 2 groups. She says that half of her fans are, “white-collar professionals looking for a custom video where I’ll say their names and do things they’re too embarrassed to ask their wives for and the other half are guys in their twenties who just follow me on OnlyFans.”
She concluded by sharing how she never expected this side-job of hers to be very profitable, but after it did become a lucrative career path for her, she quit her job as a travel agent in 2005 to cam full time.
