Devastated After Being Asked To Abandon Her Pet Dog, 24-YO In Tamil Nadu Ends Her Life

We make many connections in life, only some of which are blood relations. Sometimes, friends become family and so do pets. And the mere thought of being separated from them is devastating. For a woman in Tamil Nadu, this very prospect became so unbearable that she did something extreme.

According to News18, Kavitha, a 24-year-old resident of Coimbatore lived with her family and a pet dog named Ceasar. The pet had been with them for 2 years but on the night of October 30, the thunderstorm in the area scared him. As a result, he barked through the night inconveniencing the neighbours.

The next morning, the neighbours complained about the noise. As the family had been receiving several such complaints for some time, her father scolded her and urged her to abandon the pet in a far-off area. But she couldn’t bear to follow through so, she locked herself in her room and ended her life in the evening.

Hindustan Times reports that she left behind a note written in Tamil which read,

“Mummy, Daddy, Brother, Kindly take care of Caesar… I am sorry for my decision. Everyone should live happily.”

The cops are awaiting a post-mortem report from the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital which will aid in their mandatory inquiry into the unnatural death.

Even if we are distressed, suicide is definitely not the solution. One must reach out to friends, loved ones or seek professional help if they find themselves in such difficult situations.
