Ugandan President Plans To Ban Oral Sex, Says Mouth Is Meant For Eating Only

The LGBTQ community has faced many atrocities through the years. People with no conception of love have called them immoral and made several attempts to ban them from being a part of the society. But through sheer strength and determination, they’ve managed to leave those dark days behind.

Although a lot of countries have begun acknowledging and respecting all kinds of sexual orientation, there are still forces who’re actively trying to oppose this positive movement. One of the most prominent ones being Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

According to the International Business Times, Yoweri Museveni held a public conference on Sunday where he talked about the immoral nature of any form of gay or lesbian sex.

“Let me take this opportunity to warn our people publicly about the wrong practices indulged in and promoted by some of the outsiders.”

Museveni, who has been Uganda’s President for five consecutive terms, has been against same-sex sexual activity for the entirety of his career. And his tendency of blaming “outsiders” for the Ugandan LGBTQ community harks back to his claim that European homosexuals are recruiting in Africa.

If the lack of sexual education is not apparent yet, it’ll be since Museveni goes on about how to perform sex and how the other way is simply wrong.

“One of them is what they call oral sex. The mouth is for eating, not for sex. We know the address of sex; we know where sex is.”

This certainly seems to in line with Museveni’s Anti-Homosexuality Act from 2014, which would’ve put any Ugandan into jail for 14 years for having gay sex. But after it was annulled on 1st August 2014, it looks like Museveni has found the motivation to get it re-instated with the support of the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Rebecca Kadaga.

People who live in countries without anti-gay laws have a hard time coming out about their sexuality. So, if Museveni’s laws come into place, it’ll be even tougher for the LGBTQ community of Uganda. However, since there are enough divisions in our world based on caste, creed and race, we hope that the people of Uganda will unite to tackle their predicament sensibly. Additionally, we hope that we can take necessary steps so that future generations can live in a world devoid of bigotry and baggage.
