For some, a turban is a few meters of a piece of cloth. But, for a Sikh, it is a crown.
Sikhs are always ready to take risks and save lives, whether it is at the border or inside the border. Recently, two heroic Sikh men, Inderpal Singh and Kamalpreet Singh, broke a strict religious protocol by removing their ‘crown’ to save the lives of 4 youths from drowning in a canal at Sular Ghaat in Punjab.
The youths, aged between 18-25 years had gone to a canal to immerse a Ganesha idol when a gush of water made them lose their balance. Sitting on the embankment of the canal, Inderpal immediately tossed his turban into the water to rescue the youths.
This is what he said after his life-saving act:
If you use your presence of mind at the right time, you might end up doing something magical for the betterment of mankind.
