Trent Boult’s Daredevil ‘Catch Of The Season’ In The RCBvDD Match Has The Internet Cheering

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s run throughout all the IPL seasons has been a sad but funny one. Yes, there are some loyal supporters out there who religiously attend the matches to watch their heroes play. But most of them watch RCB’s matches for those sweet memes when they lose. And even when they win a match, you can bet somebody else will steal the spotlight. First it was Anushka Sharma with her beau-like enthusiasm, and now it’s the New Zealand pacer, Trent Boult.

During the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils, Trent Boult took a one-handed catch that stunned everyone on and off the stadium.

The Delhi Daredevils had scored 174 for 5 wickets. However, things weren’t looking well for Gautam’s team as AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli were knocking the ball all across the ground. And that’s when Harshal Patel’s full-toss urged Kohli to have a swing at it, only to end up in the secure hands of Trent Boult.

The entire moment happened in a matter of seconds as Boult swooped the ball, which was on its way over the rope, with only his right hand. Additionally, he managed to land on his stomach without crossing the boundary line. And while the catch didn’t win the match, it was certainly a sight to behold.

When Boult took the catch, Kohli was obviously left dumbfounded. However, when the match was over, he congratulated Boult’s excellence by saying,

“It’s one of those things you see regularly in the IPL. It’s good for the fans as well and when you look back you don’t really feel bad getting out to a catch like that, full credit to Trent.”

Twitter also joined Virat Kohli to praise Trent Boult, calling it the best catch ever.

1. That’s good sportsmanship.

2. Even Trent’s own team couldn’t believe it.

3. That’s true!

4. Couldn’t agree more.

5. The legend himself congratulated Trent.

Cricket has evolved to become a very fast-paced game. And with the over-abundance of tournaments, it’s easy to mix up one match with the other. However, it’s these moments of brilliance that makes these clashes memorable. Way to go, Trent!
