The weather predictions for last night seemed quite in the favour Sunrisers Hyderabad, with their impressive battalion of bowlers with an economy rate of less than eight per over. But uprooting this advantage was the formidable power of what cricket fans have come to know as the Gaylestorm! Last night’s KXIPvSRH was like an episode of Game of Thrones, where after waiting for a couple of seasons, Winter finally came for Christopher Henry Gayle’s fans!

At Mohali yesterday, 38-year-old Chris Gayle smashed a 104 off 63 balls, powering his new team, KXIP, to a win against SRH by 15 runs!

He began the innings, opening with Lokesh Rahul, got Sunriser’s Rashid Khan to conceded 55 runs in 4 overs, and stayed till the end, helping KXIP put 193-3 on the scoreboard. Man oh man!

Gayle becomes the first player to hit a century in Season 11 of IPL. Despite playing only 2 innings so far, he has already managed to become the third highest run scored for the season.

Celebrations galore erupted in the stands amongst berserk KXIP fans! Even team owner Preity Zinta and teammate Yuvraj Singh couldn’t contain their joy!

You absolutely cannot miss Yuvraj celebrating Gayle in the Gayle-est way possible—Gangnam Style!

Twitter erupted. No really, after his less-than-satisfying performance in the previous seasons, fans were dying for a glimpse of Gayle’s devastating batting skills. And when they got it, oh boy, they couldn’t rein in the adulation!

“Virender Sehwag has saved the IPL by picking me. Sehwag said in an interview: If Chris wins you two games, we have our money’s worth. I need to have a chat with him about that!”
