It’s never too late to change yourself and adopt a good path, they say. A living example of this saying is a man in Karnataka who was a thief.
Meet Shigli Basyaa, a former thief who looted over 250 homes in Karnataka for four decades. But, he is not one of the thieves who ends up in jail.
He has been in and out of jail a number of times.
While he was serving his time period in jail, he studied law to help himself get acquitted.
Except a few assault charges, he got himself exculpated.
After getting free of all charges, he has transformed completely: He seeks forgiveness and roams around with a Tricolor flag and rucksack. Till now, he has completed 450 km already.
He has walked around 450 km to seek forgiveness from people whose houses he looted.
That’s not the whole story about his transformation. He is also fighting for people who are homeless and helps them by providing shelter.
He decided to do this after he visited his father’s home in Shigli village and his brothers took 2.3 acres of land and he ended up not getting his share.
He talked to his gram panchayat and they helped him getting a home in the village. This motivated him to fight for shelter for homeless people.
What an incredible change of heart!
Kudos to him for taking up such a huge responsibility on his shoulders.
