The Lion King Teaser Trailer Is A Shot-For-Shot Remake Of Simba’s Birth & It’s Spectacular

Disney is currently in possession of two of the most lucrative franchises in the world: Star Wars and Marvel. And it’s safe to say that they’re churning boatloads of money out of that, whilst producing great movies. But then they came up with the brilliant idea of remaking their old animated classics as live-action remakes.

They’ve already remade Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians, Maleficent, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Christopher Robin. And now it’s time to take a trip to Africa, with the live-action remake of The Lion King.

The Lion King teaser trailer begins its nostalgic trip with James Earl Jones’ booming voice as Mufasa and then boasts of its photo-realistic CGI with the cutest Simba ever.

Simba’s introduction with Rafiki’s soulful voice was one of the most memorable scenes from the original The Lion King. And the teaser trailer recreates that magic with perfection, while also giving us glimpses of the most harrowing stampede any kid had to endure. Although the movie has a gigantic cast, involving Donald Glover, Beyonce (yes!), Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver, Keegan-Michael Key and John Kani, for now, all we get to hear is the voice of Mufasa.

Jon Favreau (director of Iron Man) has already shown the world that he knows how to adapt an animated movie with The Jungle Book. So, there’s no doubt that he’ll do the same with The Lion King. However, it remains to be seen whether he’ll do something new to make this as good as, or even better than the classic.
