The ‘American Dream’ has been an alluring call for the rest of the world for as long as I can remember. Anyone who manages to bag themselves a job in the USA is considered to be ‘settled’ in life. And for Indian parents especially, having their offsprings in America is a matter of pride. Or so it was. Now it has become a matter of concern. Racial hate crimes are on the rise every day and to make things worse, new visa regulations are worrisome.
One man from Telangana thought of a strange solution to these issues. For Bussa Krishna, prayer is the answer to our worries. His chosen God, however, will raise some eyebrows.
Krishna is a 31-year-old farmer who has a photo of the American president, Donald Trump in his puja room.
According to Hindustan Times, he worships Trump every day with offerings of vermillion, turmeric, flowers etc. As well as, an aarti at the end of his prayers.
The resident of Konne village in Telangana’s Jangaon district was struck by the idea following the death of Srinivas Kuchibhotla, a software engineer from the state who was allegedly a victim of hate crime at the hands of a US Navy veteran.
Krishna says:
“I was very much pained at the incident. I thought the only way the US president and his people could understand the greatness of Indians is to display our love and affection towards them. That is why I started worshipping Trump with a hope that the prayers would reach him one day.
I believe Indians can win over anyone with their spiritual powers. When you cannot take on a mighty person directly, you can win over him with love and worship and that is what I am doing.”
Funnily enough, the Trump fan does not know much about his idol.
The man who claims he has a strong faith in what he’s doing despite no one taking him seriously, says:
“I only know that he is the most strong and invincible leader in the world. What I liked about him was his bold attitude. Since he took part in World Wrestling Federation (WWF) competitions, he must be very powerful.”
He regularly posts updates of himself worshipping Trump, on his facebook profile Krish Raj.
He even has a Youtube channel where you can see videos such as this:
Ummm… Yeah.
If Krishna’s claims are to be believed, Donald Trump himself has tweeted to him saying:
“Krish from India is a very close friend of mine; out of the billions and billions of Indians, he is my favourite. He’s able to channel dragon energy from worshipping my photos; may be low-energy Jeb Bush should give it a try; I’d be happy send him a pic! See you soon Krish!”
While the authenticity of the said tweet is questionable, Krishna is definitely ecstatic about it.
As this isn’t the first time India has seen people praying to famous personalities, I guess we shouldn’t really be shocked. However, given that under Trump’s rule, the situation in America worsens every day, with almost 2000 children separated from their families recently, Krishna would do better praying against him. But, to each his own, I guess.
